At 126, Destiny Benjamin struggled to take her opponent down, but hit a Merkle to get a takedown before the 1st period ended. She escaped in the 2nd period and then took her opponent down again in the 3rd. She also got 2 back points for a 7-1 win. Dulaney led 15-3.
At 132, Ephrem Fitzsimmons gave up the first takedown and fought off the pin. He escaped and was taken down again to trail 6-1 at the end of the 1st period. He battled back in the 3rd period with an escape and a takedown. He turned his opponent to his back for the come from behind pin! Dulaney led 21-3.
At 138, James Fitzsimmons dominated his opponent with a series of takedowns and got the pin in the 2nd period using a painful double arm bar. Dulaney led 27-3.
At 145, Brett Burke received a forfeit. Dulaney led 33-3.
At 152, there was a battle of two wrestlers ranked in the top 20 in Maryland. Undefeated Sam Bloch at 18-0 vs Shayan Kassiri at 17-1. Sam immediately shot in an ended up on top of a scramble for the 2-0 lead. Kassiri was able to escape and take Sam down for a 3-2 at the end of the 1st period. Kassiri chose down and was able to reverse Sam for a 5-2 lead. Sam was able to escape, but got taken down again to fall behind 7-2. Sam chose bottom in the 3rd period and was able to escape, but was hit with a headlock and was pinned. Dulaney led 33-9.
At 160, Noah Dow dominated his opponent with numerous takedowns and was eventually able to turn his opponent for the 2nd period pin. Dulaney led 39-9.
At 170, Zavion Woodard hip tossed his opponent to his back for the quick 1st period pin. Dulaney led 45-9.
At 182, Ben Livingston hit a single leg takedown and was able to turn his opponent and pick up the 1st period pin. Dulaney led 51-9.
At 195, Tyren Hamilton received a forfeit. Dulaney led 57-9.
At 220, Bryce Brown battled his opponent, but gave up the 1st period takedown to trail 2-0. The Howard wrestler chose bottom in the 2nd period and was able to reverse Bryce. Bryce was then turned and pinned. Dulaney led 57-15.
At 285, Nick Schiefelbein battled his opponent for two scoreless periods. In the 3rd period, Nick chose bottom and was able to escape for the 1-0 lead. He was then able to take his opponent down and pin him to close out the match 63-15.
